Data Science Master Plan

In the past year or so, I’ve been determined to follow a path to data science world. It may have been started way before that, but it never been that serious. After some research and trying few things here and there, I came across an interview with Clare Corthell, in which she described how she found his path and build the skill through online resources. She built a program called “The Open Source Data Science Masters“. It’s a good mix of online courses and text books, reading materials, videos and hands on assignment. I have already started the curriculum few weeks ago. My plan here is to track my progress and update my achievements here.

The two course going on right now are:

1- Python for Data Science and Machine Learning BootCamp on Udemy

2- Data Manipulation at Scale: Systems and Algorithms, University of Washington on Coursera

3- Understanding and Visualizing Data with PythonWeek 1

Small Steps for an early Bird

I have started this journey long time ago with small steps. But today, I made a firm step forward by starting to document my journey.

It could be just Search Engine’s algorithm that I was planning to wake up earlier in the morning, but I also believe in signs. I had stumbled upon few YouTube videos and blog post talking about the benefits of waking up early in the morning to increase productivity. I’m waking up early anyway, why not making it a bit more disciplined and purposeful.

So, here’s the plan:

1- Waking up 5 AM everyday

2- Working out or working on my Data Science projects

3- Trying my best to be more productive during the day

4- Going to bed earlier, 10 PM at latest

OK. So, here’s my first day. Waking up at 4:45. Hugging little one to go back to sleep. walking downstairs to boot up my laptop. Creating my first WordPress blog post. Going well so far! I’m going to get a hot drink to start my second post. Wish me luck!
